Resort Planning

  • Download “The Excellence Collection” app for iOS or Android. No login needed (just tap “Cancel”). It has restaurant menus, daily activities, and more. You can check in using the app from 7 days to 24 hours before the day of your arrival.

What to Pack

  • $1s and $5s for tipping. It can be difficult to get change for larger bills. Dollars are preferred over Pesos.

  • Bug spray & high-SPF sunscreen. The UV index goes between very high (8) and extreme (13) from 10AM-4PM every day. This is equivalent to the New Mexico desert in July. Bottles over 3.4oz need to be packed into a checked bag.

  • Insulated tumbler if you’d like one for the beach & pool. Bartenders will fill them.

  • Plastic straws if you don’t like paper.

  • Resort dress code: Varies by venue and time of day. The mobile app has details for each sit-down restaurant and bar.

  • Wedding attire: Guys, no jackets or ties needed. Chinos/slacks and a button-up shirt will do! Gals, no white please.

General Info

  • Tap Water: Don’t drink or brush teeth from the tap. Use bottled water.

  • Time Zone: Currently the same as Eastern Time

  • Tipping: Giving a tip beforehand can get you better service and drinks than tipping afterward.

  • AC: If it’s not cold enough, ask for a dehumidifier. It’ll be brought to your room.

  • Casino: Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is 30 minutes away. It has slots & table games. No day pass needed. The Concierge can arrange a ride (ext 6040).

The Beach

  • Chairs: Try to be on the sand by 9AM if you want one.

  • Cabana rentals (Club guests only):
    $60 per day. Reserve at the beach concierge on your first day, and they will set you up each day after that with a daybed and towels. You can order food and drinks to your cabana.

  • Ocean Conditions: If the ocean gets rough, try walking along the shore in either direction to where it’s calmer.
